We are the Walton Republican Women Federated,
a grassroots organization that offers support to conservative leaders on a
national, state and local level. Since its establishment in 2008, WRWF has
developed into a reputable and productive club including active and
associate members.
WRWF has attended a number of political events, among such well-known
figures as George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, John McCain and many others. WRWF is
actively involved with organizations such as the National Association of
Republican Women (NRWF) and the Florida Federation of Republican Women (FFRW).
During the 2008 campaign, our members assisted in the operation of the
Wlaton County Republican headquarters and played a key role in helping to
elect and re-elect Republican candidates. Members of WRWF walked the
communities, rallied at events, made phone calls and helped to distribute
thousands of yard signs, bumper stickers and campaign literature.
We truly are ‘Women Making A Difference’ and we encourage you to get
involved too! For more information about the club or to make a reservation

The History of Republican Women’s Clubs
The history of Republican women’s clubs is an interesting tale that dates
back over a century ago. It all began as a result of the Republican Platform
of 1872, which stated “The Republican Party is mindful of its obligation to
the loyal women of America for their noble devotion to the cause of
freedom…”
The Palmer House in Chicago. NFRW was founded here.

In the years following this platform, Republican women’s clubs were
initiated all over the nation. The oldest club on record was founded in Salt
Lake City in the late 1800’s. This was an amazing accomplishment at that
time, considering women didn’t win the right to vote until 1920. Another
victory for women came years later in 1938, when the assistant chairman of
the Republican National Committee, Marion Martin, called a meeting at the
Palmer House in Chicago in efforts to unite these women’s clubs into a
national organization. Martin was described by her colleagues as a leader,
an activist and a strong force behind the Republican party.
Thanks to Martin’s efforts, the National Federation of Republican Women was
established. Over the years, NFRW has grown in size, strength and force.
With over 115,000 members and about 2,100 unit clubs, NFRW is one of the
largest political party organizations in the country. (source: nfrw.org)
